Years ago I had a scare & went to the VD clinic (that's how long ago this was they still called it VD) I was advised that if there was a positive result it would be forwarded to the public health nurse & I would need to supply the names of anyone i had had sex with in the last so many weeks,is that not the case anymore?

I accessed the results online and I think that one of them had a public health form. During the intake interview with the Doctor (done via private messaging) he asked where I thought I was exposed. Initially, I just said "a girl I met", but later, I told him it was a SWer. Interestingly, at that point he pretty much said that if I wanted the meds, he'd prescribe them presumptively... in other words, if you think you have clap and you see SWers, then there's a very high chance you have an STI. This bullshit that SWers always spew that they're safer than civi girls just ain't true.

Anyway, at no time did he ask who it was but I assured him I'd contact her, which I have done. She denied it initially, but said she'd get tested that day.

What they are obligated to do, is report the results to the Public Health department in the region where you live. I don't know why, it may just be for statistical reasons.

I think it was more like 2 weeks when I first noticed a "sensation" and another few days until I knew something was brewing.

And yes, the latency period can be months in some cases. The Doc suggested I might want to repeat the test a few weeks later, but I haven't done that yet. I suppose I should. I have no symptoms at all. I just returned from Central America and pharmacies there wil sell you pretty much anything without a prescription. I was tempted to buy a bag of the stuff they used to keep my dock from rotting off...

I don't think it's "reliable" just to take someone's word that they're "clean". Several STIs have virtually no symptoms...

When I was being screened prior to being testing, the Doc asked my if I knew for certain where I'd contracted this. I told him I was 99% certain, but there was a second woman just before that one. I assured him that I'd contact both and he was satisfied with that.

The results are reported to public health, but I believe that this is for statistical purposes. Those of getting tested aren't the problem.

Anyway, you believe what you like. It’s a free world. I think guys on this board have had some different experiences with family doctors.

I don't believe any of what you're saying but if you feel your Doctor would do that, I'd suggest you find a new doctor. Perhaps a psychiatrist would be a good place to start.

Your Doctor can undoubtedly access the test results if you have OHIP pay for the lab work. If you chose to pay out of your own pocket, I don't believe they're there for him to find, but may be available if they do some weird search specifically to find it, and I have trouble imagining anyone giving a fuck about that. To suggest otherwise, implies some grand conspiracy to find your clap test, which just seems very strange to me. I assume that those of you are all concerned about this are concerned that your Doctor is going to go out of their way to uncover the tests, and then show themm to who, your wife? But why would they do that? You're sounding a touch paranoid. But if you feel this way, there's always the good old Hassle_Free Clinic.

Anyway, I'm not going to debate this with you. But if you're using that as an excuse not to get tested, then that's a whole other concern. And consider this... What's the greater concern, that your doctor conspires to out you to your spouse, or you giving your wife an STI? Good luck explaining that!

For those of you who get tested for STIs with any regularity, where do you do it, if not your family Doctor?

Just a follow up on this... As I was symptom free, I never did get tested. In fact a few weeks ago, I went back to see the same girl. Great session with BBBJ and CFS...

But then part way through fucking, I popped out, she ripped off the condom and stuck it back in. I said something profound like "whoa" to which she responded, you're the only person I do this with. I tossed her off anyway, and we finished with a handy...

Fast forward three weeks... I notice a little tingling as I pee... FUCK.

So I engaged with Teletest. I lied about using a SW in the questionnaire. I had a testing consultation with a doctor who ordered tests which I had done the next day. By that night, I was pissing razorblades. Back for another consultation with doc who prescribed meds even though test results weren't back yet. Downed drugs at noon yesterday and feel 99% better now. Results are still pending, but clearly, I have something.

Once confirmed, I will contact the spa and hopefully the girl directly.

So keep it wrapped boys. If there's an upside to this, I haven't been intimate with my girlfriend since I was exposed, so no issues there. I am not going to expose the girl, as there is at least a tiny possibility that I was exposed elsewhere.

+1 for Teletest. There is an option for complete anonymity with testing, you just need to pay for the tests. ($70 or so, plus $40 for teletest)
