I also know that MPA's making $100k only claim $20k and pay taxes on that. You tell me they will want to pay taxes on the full pop. Give your head a shake.

You don't think if everyone paid their fair share, you'd be paying less?

Minimum wage workers pay less, and high income earners pay more proportionately. That's not fair? And wouldn't you favour a fair sex rate, instead of getting ripped off by a few opportunists? Would you rather be safe, than risking an encounter from a corrupt pimp who can become violent and attack you?

You can't deny that the benefits would outweigh the risks.

It gets better, some sex workers are making good coin obviously yet are on social assistance either Ontario Works or ODSP thus receiving free rent and a food allowance. One enterprising lady was even renting out her free government place to three ESL students for $750 cash per month and she declares zero income. The only snag was she couldn’t get CERB during the pandemic and the supply of ESL students has almost disappeared as many have gone home and new ones cannot come due to the pandemic.

It's not fair. And of course they should pay their fair share. But i dont think they want to pay so wont want to go legit.

I agree that the government is not going to legalize sex work any time soon. Conservatives will hide behind religious morality (even though Jesus himself hung around prostitutes), and there are too many Liberal "feminist" hypocrites who say a woman can do whatever she wants with her body when it comes to abortion, but not sex work (it's all exploitation/violence). Politicians chase votes and there are few votes to gain and plenty to lose from this issue.

The most realistic good outcome would be for the Supreme Court to declare the law unconstitutional, but have Liberals in power at the time and they just let it slide, like with abortion in the 80s. That way it would be effectively decriminalized for consenting adults, but cops could still deal with trafficking and minors.

You make a good wage at your job, then you do what everyone else does and pay your tax. You make minimum wage, you pay a much lower amount.

The same should be for sex work. If the ladies make 10,000/month, don't you think it's fair if they pay a little of that to offset some of your taxes, especially if you're breaking your back to make a measly 2000/month?

Why are some ladies charging 500/hr, when some are charging 200/hr? Maybe regulation will close that gap and stop some ladies from ripping us off.

Snoopy is incredibly educated on an astonishingly wide range of subjects, including tax law.

In other threads he has actually argued there is no progressive taxation in Canada and that all Canadians pay basically pay a 70% tax rate!

I don't need to know what anyone's income is, to know how much tax they're paying. It comes out to an average of 70% for everyone, give or take a few. I know how much tax you're paying, even though I don't know what you look like. I know how much tax every Canadian is paying.
