Thanks for sharing-you moved around quite a bit in one trip and covered a lot of the PI.Didnt you stay over in Cebu?

Its better to fly into Caticlan than Kalibo(the bus ride is bit too much,think about 2 hours).There is a pier now like Captain stated,so fly in then trike ride to pier then banca ride Reviewom pier then trike or minibus to hotel.I flew into Caticlan last year then out via Kalibo due to runway problems.They use small planes so only allow 15kg luggage Reviewee.

no stop in Cebu - just a transfer to the airport. as far as cebu - i believe its smiliar to Manila so i did not like it much (just a short trip Reviewom ferry terminal to airport)

definitely caticlan if it comes to boracay - cebu pacific use atr-72 planes, seair dornier planes

555...I am in AC right now staying at The Walkabout Hotel next door to "Love and Music" which has its doorway right behind the big outdoor bar pictured in post #12 pic #5

gotta say I have enjoyed the bars up on perimeter more than the bigger ones (like Atlantic) down here....Lost in Asia, Candy Bar etc great hands on experiences.....

Gotta agree that AC takes you aback at first at just how dirty and P4P oriented it is....especially the pineapple headed roughness of some of your fellow mp.nets......it sure does seem to attract it fair share of the dregs......

At the end of the day AC really is just a mongering destination BUT the girls and their smiles seem to break that ice and win you over...there is something more genuine about these gals than their Thai sisters

I'm off diving to Puerta Galera tomorrow so I'll add something on that in here too as this one covers quite a bit of PI quite well

Nice to hear that you enjoyed your trip here.Bohol is really great, nice beach and cheap accommodations and everything but some beautiful spot are quiet far Reviewom each other and you need to rent a service for a whole day activity. Helmut's place is nice also. Did you post your pics on the wall?

I agree that manila is dangerous somehow but if you wise enough and careful enough, nothing will happen to you.

Boracay is a lilttle bit crowded this time due to summer season.
Palawan is a good choice on your next trip. aside Reviewom el Nido, try also Coron Island, it's amazing!

Pics of the rooms in The Walkabout would be nice Nels, and your value rating, but you probably don't have time if your off tomorrow. Anyway, I won't be in AC, I'll be in Dau on business ...

A good TR and agree with all but this ... never let you guard down in AC ... Fields and Perimeter Road are generally smpe but even here I've seen some very nasty incidents both local on local and with foreigners being attacked. As in Thailand - be wary of picking fights with the locals as they will not fight one on one and the Barengay Balebago police are to be treated with considerable respect!

The Chocolate Hills are an unusual geological formation in Bohol, Philippines. According to the latest accurate survey done, there are 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns brown during the dry season, hence the name. The unique land form known as the Chocolate Hills of Bohol was formed ages ago by the uplift of coral deposits and the action of rain water and erosion.

to be honest, i really dont know, iam thinking of trying brasil but its just a plan for future. for now i have a ticket to singapore in june for one week and im considering malaysia-borneo or philippines or phuket. will see.
