My butt hurts so much from riding my bike. I'm a newbie at this, pls help?

Okay so, i just began riding my bycycle with my brother not too long age. We ride around downtown for about an hour and a half, which i know is a little much considering i'm a newbie at this i tried to convince myself it was okay because A. I'm 18, i need to begin a healthier lifestyle and B. I have a big butt and shapely legs so i thought i could handle it.
Boy, oh boy was i wrong. I tried to ride my bike today and my butt hurt soo much! Like the two bones under my butt. I ended up just going home and giving me the day to recover.
So my question is, should i stick it out and keep riding even though it hurts (no pain no game?) , is there anything i can buy to ease my butt pain or do i rest until my butt is better?

You need to break in your butt with a few shorter rides, then gradually increase ride time.

So many possible problems & solutions it's almost unimaginable. First of all, it's called "butt training". Could I walk into a gym & dead lift 300 lbs. with no training? Nope. You're using muscles that haven't been used in a long time. Go for shorter rides & build up to longer ones.

Saddle (seat) height & angle? Is it adjusted properly? Saddles do adjust up & down, tilt back & forth & slide fore & aft. Experiment. A quarter on an inch in adjustment (or less) can mean the difference between riding fun & riding pain. See links below.

What type of bicycle & what type of saddle? Is it a discount store special? Is it one of those w-i-d-e gel saddles? If so - trash it now & replace it with one from a bike shop. Gel is a thick liquid. Same characteristics as water. It will take the path of least resistance. As soon as you sit down, your sit bones force that gel away from where support is needed & to areas of soft tissue & blood vessels creating PAIN.

Padded cycling shorts are a must for long distance riding. They supply support for the right area - your "sit bones" only. 3rd link. See these folks for quality products.

In short...give it time, experiment with the saddle you have now IF it's a good one, go for shorter rides & build slowly & buy a good pair or two of padded cycling shorts.

It looks like you have the wrong type of saddle (seat) for your anatomy.
There are three parts of the bike that should be individualized - wherever your body comes into contact with the bike: The handlebar, the pedals and most importantly, the saddle. There are many different shapes and materials for saddles - some are narrow, others wider; some are hard, others soft; some have springs, others not; there are even different saddles for males and females, taking account of the differently shaped anatomy. And there are different materials too. Some swear by leather saddles (Brooks) which need to be "worn in", kept dry, greased occasionally and can stain your pants; others prefer gel saddles. There is no universal recommendation as we are all shaped different.
I suggest going to a good bicycle shop. They will let you test-drive different types of saddles by mounting them on your bike and riding a short distance on it; that could give you a feeling whether it is good.
For now I suggest to wait with any longer trips until you are free of pain.

same thing happened to me but what i did is i stopped for a few days till i wasn't sore anymore then i started again..and little by little you get used to it and it doesn't hurt anymore.
