These jealous therapists think that the success of a few good therapists is the reason that their businesses are not thriving. It never occurs to them to try to understand why a few are very successful, and then try to develop their own successes business model through continuous improvements. Self examination and a reality check require immense personal maturity.

Unfortunately, we have another post repeating this info. Sad. Do ppl not realize that it is the hundreds of RMTs or competitors who can't seem to get their businesses going read these threads and then whine and file complaints to the associations and the insurance companies? It would be too much effort to examine their own shortcomings. I am not saying that massages need to include he, just that customers need to be wowed by the massage itself.... yeah real work for 60 or 90 minutes, not 10 minutes of hard work in a 60m session. The other side of massage, where they give a sub par massage for 50 minutes and then want to make a killing in the last few minutes with a jackhammer he are crooks too. 2200 hrs permit or not. Those ones, I may call the insurance companies, myself .

True that. I keep forgetting how much insurance is a scam. Their primary goal is to find reasoning to deny. For every one adjuster, there are probably 2 people looking for a way to deny a claim.
Morality in the eyes of insurance companies still see’s the world with a ‘50’s view and being Alberta, the capital of the overly righteous in Canada, there’s little the more open minded folks like myself can do.
Reminds me of the article in yesterday’s paper on how a private event of naturalists to hold a nude swim at a pool was cancelled because of fear for the backlash. Supposedly a gaggle of bible thumping, tambourine whacking, protesters threatened to rally at the pool. Just shows you how closed minded people still are.

I am open minded to. Go forth as spread your seed, get massages, happy endings BJ's, Get laid, go travelling to Greece but pay for it out of YOUR pocket. DO NOT EXPECT ME (thru my insurance premium) TO PAY FOR YOU TO HET LAID !!!!!

Maybe I didn’t explain my views well. I too pay a pretty penny for insurance and as of yet have not utilized my massage benefits as I don’t have issues requiring a prescription. Having said that I see NO immorality with claiming $80 for a massage from a RMT who is recognized by my insurance company. Each massage I have received from a RMT registered location was therapeutic. I walked away with less stress and less soreness, which is by definition one of the many goals and benefits of a massage. What may or may not transpire that I am happy to provide a “tip” to, comes out of my pocket and NOT yours.
If my only goal was the extra services provided, I sure as hell wouldn’t waste my time with RMT’s. There are plenty of “sure things” out there who are better looking and provide a great deal more in that department for the same amount.
The morality I speak of is in relation to the soapbox you are standing on right now. MY interest in claiming a massage through MY insurance, for a therapeutic treatment by a registered massuse is MY right as a policy holder. Judging that and insinuating that because there may be extra services provided for additional cost, defrauds the claimable massage is Horseshit. My insurance provides coverage for massages because we have stress and soreness in our lives, if I am to claim them for services that remedy that, then WTF is the problem.
If I go to the dentist and get a cleaning, and ask for fluoride, I pay out of pocket because that isn’t covered. I by no way am taking advantage of the system. What I claimed, I received, the rest is my responsibility and my business to choose if that extra is worth my money.
You seem very passionate about this, but please step down off the soapbox. Yes insurance companies have a responsibility to investigate against fraud but if you actually believe their primary goal is to protect you, they’ve done a stellar job selling you their horseshit. Insurance is one of the most lucrative scams out there. They take way more than they give and if you do seriously need their assistance, good luck.

I did not say their motive is to protect me, but if ANY business wants customers, they need to keep costs/prices reasonable (loss prevention in ANY business) so they ARE indirectly protecting me.
I am not on a soap box, because I feel exactly what you posted THIS time when you did explain your views well. If you need a massages, claim that, pay for extras out of your own pocket, no problem.

Ok and once again things go sideways because of misunderstanding. I guess I just assumed the RMT’s who provide receipts only provide for the value of the posted price of the massage. If there are some providing receipts for everything, then I too have a serious issue with that. In that case the provider is risking being blacklisted and the client fucking us all over.
I don’t hate insurance companies. I understand their place in society, but It really does seem like I give way more than receive. Perhaps that’s an opinion from someone who has never REALLY needed to claim a serious claim.
I guess, WTF do I really know?

So you and I agree lol. As far as Insurance companies go, yes it can be frustrating to deal with them, I too feel like I have give them more than I get from them but... maybe we should just be thankful that we have never needed them for anything major i.e. we have had no major losses.
All businesses are in business for profit and I never begrudge a person making a profit. Same reason you and I go to work. Make money to pay our bills and if smart, have some 'profit' left over for unexpected events or retirement. The concept of insurance is a great idea but yes, sometimes you feel like you are not treated fairly.
As I said, be thankful you never had a serious claim. Think of it as peace of mind for something you hope you never need to use.

high costs...increases to your premiums for massage claims...get hold of yourself and/or take a giant leap off your high horse.....massage claims to multi billion dollar insurance companies are tantamount to an old fart in a windstorm..

On a sidenote: 1. I know how bad it is to fart in a windstorm...especially if it's blowing in your direction. 2. You should never have to take a giant leap off of any horse, high or not. Stay seated at all times.

I don't think anyone is claiming any additional for their HE. People can legitimately claim for an hour therapeutic massage.
From any legitimate massage practitioner.
I certainly would never condone any one being reimbursed for something inappropriate and I don't hear anyone here suggesting that.
If they have a relationship that involves additional services afterword that is between them. It certainly does not get claimed for
