Out of curiosity, how much is the burger at Joe's restaurant. They are pretty good there, and I remember thinking they were kind of expensive -- but even with the great seaview terrace, I don't think they were 700 baht.

I think they were close to 400 baht in mid sep somthing like 370-380 +Add on 50-100 for Bacon Cheese

The Thai tel/power cabling jobs are insane... enjoyed a free 'light show' in places! They certainly detract from the guitar though don't they? lol

If you want to do price comparisons I've just been to the Hard Rock in the most expensive city in the world>>>

At 150 yen = 1 GBP
Burgers
Legendary 8oz...1890 yen = GBP12.6
BBQ Bacon and Cheese...1990 yen = GBP13.2
Big Cheese...1980 yen = GBP13.2
Red, White and Blue...1980 yen = GBP13.2

So prices sound very similar to what you will pay in the one in Patong where the cost of living is maybe 1/5th of what it is here!

I didn't eat in the HRC Tokyo though because there is a TGI Friday across the road and I prefer it there...and the burgers are 300 yen cheaper too

Great Info..maybe we need a TGIF here for a little competition...I actually was at one of those small hotel guest houses on Soi Sansabi last night...they have this small restaurant in the front lobby area...and had a beautiful and tasty 12 oz burger with exquisite service...for 170 baht

actually...you know in Soi Sea Dragon...there's that small bar called the Hard Rock....been there for years...its not a lady bar...just a regular small joint that blasts rock & roll music all night....and they used to sell copy t-shirts for 100 baht or so...Not sure if they still do...but I recall the "real" Hard Rock a few years ago coming down hard on these places that sold replicas of their merchandise...I'll have to walk in there and take a look one night.
