I am first time posting here but have to contribute to the issue on Cyprus.

Cabarets are everywhere in Cyprus, in Limassol there are 34 + some late opened bouzoukias.

There is clearly no prostitution in the cabarets as the deal is you have to sit with the girl and buy her drinks (the minimum and price is different depending on the club). The girls are contracted as artistes and have a work visa as well, they are under the control of the club owner (when the club is open). The clubs receive frequent checks from police officers which checks that the girls contracted are all present. After 3 a.m. the clubs close and as consenting adults the girls can leave with the customers.

I know this scene through local friends and have sampled it on several occations:

I was never asked to pay for sexual services in Cyprus (limassol).
You pay 5 drinks for the girl and she comes with you when the club closes, you enjoy yourself in a nearby hotel or your own hotel, (note that the business and tourist hotels will all charge an extra person fee for the girl and the night watch may be sleeping but the maid will know exactly what has been going on in the morning.)

This could be a true GFE if you are picky with the girls and don

Five held after spate of prostitution arrests

FIVE people were detained over the weekend in connection with three separate prostitution cases, it was reported yesterday.

In the first case, police arrested three Chinese nationals allegedly engaging in prostitution in Nicosia.

I was in paphos in june 2004 .There are a few cabarets where the girls are coming near you to offer them some drinks.
You can negociate for getting more but.....you have to wait her until the cabaret is closed.....03h00!!
It is the same in all cabarets,for police reason.
Another way is to ask their phonenumber and give them an appointement the day after ,during the afternoon .
Frustrating.

i was in cyprus in 2001, but things havent changed much according to my cypriot buddies. Cabarets are everywhere, in all the cities, when your inside, girls will sit with you, or even on you, touching is allowed, and if you want a private dance, they will take you to the back rooms, and you can even negotiate a BJ or sex with them before heading to the back rooms. Most of the girls i came across were from eastern europe. as far as i remember it was 20 pounds for a lap dance, and it could cost around 40-50 for sex. Also there were many places close to the green line in nicosia where there are cypriot ladies available. The problem is that most of them are about a 0.5 to 1 on a scale of 10!!! they only cost about 10-15 pounds for sex, i didnt try it, but my freinds drove me around the areas, they have their doors open and they are sitting inside, so you can just walk in. these women are their mostly to service the soldiers who are horny+on a tight budget. in ayanapa and the surrounding party areas, i found it really easy to pick up english girls, as they are mostly there in groups all looking for a good time. this country is full of action in all the cities.

Cabaret owner arrested on suspicion of pimping

POLICE arrested a 40-year-old cabaret owner and his 35-year-old employee in Limassol in connection with charges of pimping and profiting from prostitution after a report by a disgruntled punter.
According to the report, a 47-year-old man from Nicosia complained to police after visiting the cabaret and discovering that he was expected to pay extra for sex with one of the female employees. The man met the woman at a Limassol cabaret last Saturday in the early hours of the morning. He informed her that he wanted to have sex with her. She replied that in order to do so he would have to buy her three drinks, after which the 40 year old owner intervened and informed the customer that he would have to pay 50 pounds for his request. The 35 year old waiter then explained to the customer that he would buy the lady drinks equivalent to 50 pounds in value.
After going for a bite to eat, the pair ended up in a hotel room where he again approached her for sex. In return, she demanded 40 pounds for any sexual endeavors. The 47-year-old refused and the woman notified the waiter, who turned up at the hotel room soon after.
The waiter then informed the disgruntled punter that his consumer rights had not been affected since the 50 pounds he had paid earlier only concerned the drinks he bought for the lady. The two employees then left the hotel, leading the concerned 47 year old to report the matter to the police.
The 40 year old owner was then charged and released until further inquiries had been made. Limassol CID is investigating.

TWO MEN were arrested in Paphos in connection with prostitution charges, police said yesterday. The arrests were made after police stopped a car carrying two men and two cabaret artistes on Monday [ they apparently call strip clubs "cabarets" and strippers "cabaret artistes" in Cyprus, note reports in the Guide Section. How charming ]
Following questioning, police discovered the two men had reached an agreement with a cabaret employee to have sexual intercourse with the two young women for a fee. The cabaret owner and employee in question were arrested for questioning in connection with the case. Paphos CID is investigating.
