Anybody using HotStrokes heated lotion/oil holster?

I have been thinking about getting one of these for a while. http://www.thermalcomfortinc.com/default.asp
They are expensive (approx. $300 for double holster, insulated, with ultimate battery pack), but Christmas is coming and I thought about asking Santa!

Would love to hear anyone's experience. All of the sudden the weather in NH has turned colder, and I'm noticing how hard it is to warm up my lotion and oil, or even to keep it warm the whole massage if I pre-warm it. Looks like the HotStrokes is just the ticket, albiet $$$...

I have been eyeing that as well, but I just cannot get myself to fork over the money...but I bet it would feel wonderful to have the lotion warmed before applying it...let me know if you get one from santa how it goes...good luck

I know it's not exactly what you're asking for and you probably already know this, but keeping the oil/lotion resting in a water-filled crockpot or skillet does the trick for me. I also use a holster and would much prefer to have it warm and at my ready, but honestly, even if it works I can't see spending $300 on it. It's just not that hard to have the crockpot or skillet close by with the oil/lotion in it.

I use one of those mini crockpots. It cost about $10 at walmart and easily can fit 2-3 bottles of oil. Warm oil poured directly on the skin feels divine and I do this for several of my clients. I can also keep a stone or two in the crock for selective use.

How about a baby bottle warmer? That should maintain the oil at an even and safe temp.

I've been looking at those for 4 years now.
I just can't justify the price.

You can warm the oil prior to session and it stays fairly warm in my regular pump bottle. I tried one of those Conair lotion warmers.
Blech.
Don't waste your time or money on those!

We used baby wipes warmers at the first place I IC'd. It worked perfectly. I'd think the bottle warmer would do just as nice of a job.

i've been using the warmer for about a year now and say I enjoy it and would say it's worth it. Especially if you give full pumps of oil it's really warm. But if you just use little half pumps the oil won't be quite as warm since the oil in the pump mechanisum isn't heated.

is it perfect no, is it pretty darn good i would say yes and would buy it. I have the regular battery model.

I've been using a cup warmer for years, which is a mug/cup
sized mini-hot plate type warmer, (also sold as a candle warmer, to release the scent without lighting the candles). You take a cup, put a little hot water in it, then pop in your oil pump dispenser & voila you have your oil all warm to pump out into the hand and apply to the client's skin !

If I don't have a lot of time before my client comes I will also run hot water in the sink and heat my oil up in dispenser that way first, then place it in the cup to keep it warm. People really love it !

Just had another thought, for those of you who don't
want to spend the insane price of $300.00 or so for these
heated holsters. Take a regular holster, and use those
great pocket warmers they sell at any local sporting goods or hardware store ! They run a dollar for a single pack, which includes two per pack. Infinitely less expensive way to go :!: :woohoo:
