There are millions of contraceptives all over the place. Females can be more responsible in their actions or they can release the baby for legal adoptions. There many couples on waiting lists to take them.

Lessons are learned from tragic events and changes are made to prevent them from happening again. That is how new normals are defined. In this case though, I'm wondering if things will change for the better. I just don't see much good coming from this regardless what route we take because there will always be an awful tradeoff for it. A tragedy like 9/11 was different in the sense that everyone knew the economy would suffer. Everyone knew that the recovery stage would be difficult. Everyone knew America would be changed forever as they would all start living cautiously, sometimes in fear, moving forward. What they had going for them was time. Time to heal, time to find renewed patriotism, time to rebuild the economy, time to project how long it would take to get back to a new normal but nonetheless, the life everyone was accustomed to. Time was what they needed but is something that we don't have in this pandemic. Of course new norms will be established but if we were to live in a completely different society, say, a great depression where everything is drastically different, then I want no part in it. People always say we're so lucky to be living in these first world nations. Well I've always been damn aware of it and though my life was never perfect, I liked it the way it was. If we can't even get back to half of how things were because life changed for the worse, I have no desire to be a part of that society. I would rather die of the virus than to live in a dystopian shithole. I know a bit of it since I lived in a third world country a long time ago.

Yeah, now that the pot shops are closed, the rush is on to the LCBO. I guess governments still need to make money. They need it though, for the emergency relief fund. $2000/month for up to 4 months for people that lost their jobs. And also the relief on the electricity bills for 6 weeks. That money has to come from somewhere. Might as well be from the booze.

1. taken steps to protect employee
2. upped the pay in recognition of the above
