New York state is more densely populated than Florida as the population is largely concentrated near NYC whereas in Florida it is spread out around the coast and in multiple cities. New York City is getting hit hard which makes sense given everybody out walking and bumping into each other and most people living in buildings rather than single family homes. Community spread is then just easier in New York than Florida.

How do you compare Florida to New York? Isn't New York more devastatingly affected by the virus than any other state?

In fairness to New York, yes it is more densely populated than Florida. My point was, Gov. Cuomo is so overrated. He was just as unprepared as most states yet people heap so much praise on him like he were the 2nd coming of Jesus just because he can string 2 coherent sentences together. He's such a good speaker that all of a sudden he should be running for President? Are you kidding me??? Also, Florida is a big state and has an older population. They were once projected to have 400,000+ hospitalizations and they ended up with only 2,000+ so far due to the basic stay-at-home orders placed by Gov. DeSantis. Some even said they would end up like Italy. DeSantis didn't have to rely on extreme draconian measures like idiot Gov. Whitmer of Michigan did to get things done. Now, Florida is planning on a projected reopening date.

Oh BTW California is almost just as big and yet they were nowhere near the disaster New York was because they placed a 3-week lockdown early when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March. Meanwhile Cuomo, De Blasio and Trump were bickering like middle school girls over ventilators and PPE. Mayor DeBlasio also temporarily released 300 Rikers Island inmates, gave them cellphones and housed them in hotels. Genius idea mayor! Now you've hurt the hotel industry!

Chris Cuomo clearly violated the 14-day isolation guideline for anyone with the virus or thought to have it and yet his brother Gov. Andrew never called him out on it. A week ago, Chris mentioned on his show (airing from his basement) that he was confronted by a bicyclist in the Hamptons for not taking his quarantine seriously. Now in this video, he pretends like he was trapped in the basement for weeks and this was his first time out? Even at home, CNN "journalists" still producing fake news!

I'm guessing Michigan was hard hit because of their higher concentration of blacks, especially in the Detroit area. Nothing to do with racism, but blacks are known to suffer more from diabetes and high blood pressure. So, their pre-existing conditions would make the Covid risk much worse.

I think blacks are getting hit hard because they are more likely to be poor which leads to poor diets, poorer health, less access to health insurance and the hospitals in their area might not be as well staffed or well equipped as the rich ones. Generally black neighbourhoods in the US are segregated from the white neighbourhoods. Of course some people will argue that this segregation of blacks vs whites is systemic racism.

Absolutely! And it's not racism. It's statistically obvious that blacks sadly make up a good portion of the lower income bracket. That makes them more susceptible to diseases like this due to their impoverished state. Even Dr. Fauci pointed it out.

Gov. Whitmer of Michigan has practically acted like a dictator throughout this ordeal. I get the shutdowns but forbidding citizens to buy paint, seeds and gardening tools? Preventing people from getting hip replacement surgeries or having dental appointments but keeping abortion clinics open? Really?!? Arresting a man who was sitting all alone by a lake because he wasn't isolating at home? Absurd! No wonder people have been protesting her blatant infringement of their constitutional rights.
