They’ve been burying the bodies of the unclaimed and people that have no money there since the 19th century, inmates at Rikers Island get extra pay to pull grave digging duty. There’s been an uptick in the last week of bodies going here but it’s nothing new and many going there now are temporary until after the 'crisis,' is over.
I saw it on the news always cracks me up, especially cnn, cbc and bbc.

The victims of Covid19 are being buried in mass graves temporarily, because when there are thousands of people in New York dieing at the same time, the funeral homes and cemeteries are overwhelmed. There is also a social distancing law. There is only a maximum of 10 visitors allowed at a time in a funeral home.
