I've held off on this for as long as I could, but ugh, I can't anymore...this is more for me to vent at this time than anything. I know it'll end up becoming a flame war and I can't help that. All I can say is that inflammatory and trollish posters will get ignored by me, so in a way, this thread will help me control my post feed better.

Sometimes, I wonder at Trump's actions. Is he really such a whiny "wah wah I was robbed" loser or is he really a mad genius playing/preying on the minds of his followers and doing his best to smear Biden's win and cast a shadow over democracy over the next 4 years? I've heard from family who live in the states that Trump is doing his best to incite civil war, but I couldn't believe that, until yesterday of course. Sometimes, his seemingly inability to face facts just boggles my mind. Can he really be that stupid or is this all just part of a complicated plan? Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Well, Trump's been doing just that, but the one result that is changing is that the US is becoming more and more divisive. Hell, many republicans have turned against him to at this point. I guess being in mortal danger thanks to his efforts was the eye opener for them.

Geniuses don't provoke riots or try to destroy democracy. He gets into temper tamtrems if he doesn't get his way. He doesn't want to play by the rules, because he wants to make his own rules. Trump is a 74 year old little spoiled brat. Very unsportsmanlike. Only little 3 year olds want to stop the race when they are winning, even though the race isn't over yet. Then if he loses the race, he claims the other guy cheated. I would say he's probably more immature than anything else. One of the rules says that a President of United States must be at least 35 years old. But it doesn't say anything about having the mentality of a normal 35 year old. Reminds me of former Bruins goalie, Tim Thomas, only worse.

Pence will never be President. He admitted the election was fraudulent, then claimed the Constitution didn't allow him to contest the individual States results that were being submitted.

Pence effectively made the argument that fraudulent vote totals do count as legitimate if the States certify them as being valid.

I've been on the side of those who support Trump for almost four years. I detest the man and think he is one of the worst options for leadership, except for the other side, which in my view continues to be worse. Trump deserves many of the horrible things that get said about him, but the Democrats and their current world view pose a bigger threat to democracy and our way of life than one man ever could. Having said that, the last 24 hours are indefensible. Trump has to go, and the sooner the better. I just hope nobody puts a bullet in him because that's probably one of the most guaranteed ways of pushing this crazy situation completely over the edge.

I try to ignore your posts, but in this case you've summed up the situation pretty well. Those are the things that people believe happened in the election, but Trump went to court--and lost. I wouldn't deny him anything the legal process allows, but his behaviour and statements have crossed the line into the irresponsible. He never was a person fit to be President, but he was elected and so had to be tolerated. Now he has lost an election-by every legal measure. The responsible thing to do is accept that, even if he feels he got robbed.
