While at the Hong Kong Bar, I bought two girls drinks and they charge me $7.00 each, but this time there was no potato chips. The last time I was charge $13, it was a drink and potato chips, but also I remember the chica might have ordered an expensive drink. I remember at adelitas the drinks are $7 but if she orders some expensive drink then it is $11. 99% of the time the drinks are $7. Each week at these clubs it is hit and miss. This week, Hong Kong had great looking women. Only one chick I consider a ten, Jimena or Ximena but pronounced himena was at the hong bar wearing a gold dress, the dress takes away from her hot ass body. Me and my amigo rented a room so there was no knocking. I had girls between a 7 and 8. I did not have jimena or Ximena because I like variety. I also had one hot street girl. Adelitas had goodlooking women at night but it was not as good as two weeks ago. It was caliente back then. Las Chavelas had good looking women too. I checked out all the other clubs and the women were not my type. In fact, this time the street girls looked better than any of the girls in the other clubs.

Now in the case here it's clearly JohnK's fault! He doesn't ask what the price is for the drink. So it might not even be the bars fault or the waiter, because some drinks are more than $7 dollars. For example "Red Bull:" is on average $2 to $4 dollars more than the average drink, and so are other drinks along with doubles. So we don't even know for sure if the HK mesero ripped off JohnK, because he didn't ask the price. It may well be the drink was $10 dollars, and the chips were $3 dollars that he accepted when he paid them.

So now we have Hong Kong, the mesero, and even me that doesn't care about JohnK, and think he should be resolved the problem himself if he believes he got ripped off.

It happens some waiters are assholes and try to cheat you, but there are things you could do to keep it from happening. One of the things I do is I have three favorite meseros in HK, and 90% of the time I only buy from those guys, and can even give them a $100 dollar bill to break for me and bring me the right amount of change. Another thing I do is make sure they know I'm giving them a $20 dollar bill or 200 peso note, and if I have any questions I make them break down all the prices for me.

I had to post after reading thebadguy comments.LOL If you have girls that work there telling you to watch the mesero then there something wrong.Just like gmbrldx I was told samething by some girls that use to work there.They also said management was involved with it.

Before I even drink, I make HK my first stop.

Well, yes, there are honest mistakes made, no doubt. And there are decent and honest people who do work in HK. Have you met Rey? He is not a mesero. He works as one of the doormen and also seems to be responsible for when the chicas check in and out. He is a good source of information about the chicas. I trust him.

But there can be no doubt that there are meseros who deliberately try to short-change you. I was sitting with a chica in HK (who later became one of my all-time favoritas! but that is another story.) She warned me beforehand that this particular mesero was going to try to short-change me. When he did, she called him out and said some things in Spanish that sounded so good, I wish I had understood them. He apologized to me, left and then came back with the correct amount of change. She told me not to leave him a tip. I left him a dime tip. She got a kick out of that.

Moral of the story: Watch your back in HK.

Guys guys guys.... let's give the bardudes a break here. They are guys who work in loudy, dark, crowded, smoky environments all day long for a tip. Maybe he made a mistake on the change. Maybe you gave him a $10 instead of $20. People (including you) make mistakes.

I have been going to HK for years, back when it was a one room dingy bar. Over the years, I have been treated with respect by the bardudes and girls. I have struck a friendship with Carlos the bardude. Once, I didn't go for couple of month and when he saw me he said

"what happend, I was getting worried that something happened to you"

I would bet with them on which chica was real or fake tits. When he loses, he really buys me a beer. He'll always brings me the young pretty fresh chicas when I go.

Maybe to get respect, you need to give the bardudes some respect as well. Look them in the eyes once a while instead of throwing them a few coins or a dollar bill.

Let me add Gmbrldx, just by plain personal experience, when we are talking "giros negros" (name given in México to shady clubs working in shady businesses), I've seen them go underwater many times due to their policies of letting the waiters do what ever they want with the customer, or even then the same club playing dirty with their loyal clients.

But opposed to this, if the club is hot, but only in the sense that they have incredible girls, offer great things to the customers... this covers whatever goes on the side, cause the club will become the talk of the town for what it peddles: girls.
The waiters stealing money? Well I'll be careful... but all for the girls.

Hell, several years ago, the #2 first class club in Monterrey and I mean way above HK (as in total expensive) was cloning credit cards, just as is, cloning them at the cash register.
Many folk I know, local and mongers from the States were afected by this, and you know one thing?
Club is still there, working fine, 40 girls in the night shift, loyal customer following.
Guys adapted, how? by paying only in cash.

I think it was this forum, or at another one I mentioned that ho's and club girls are a drug. No matter what happens, you'll be after your drug, if your source changes, you adapt.
You might complain about prices, but you adapt.
You might be robbed, you might complain, but you adapt.

Well, I am not that naive. It is pretty easy for all to see just how disrespectful and dishonest many of the maseros are in HK and that the management must be aware of what is going on. I was simply commenting that I still find it hard to understand how the management could not expect this to backfire on them. You say they are crooks dealing with other crooks. That may be so but it is still not in the best long-term interests of a business -- any business, legal or illegal -- to mistreat its customers. But at the same time, when you see just how successful HK has been, you have to wonder how this mistreatment is not hurting their business. It must be. There must be mongers who say to themselves, "I am not setting foot in the place ever again." And yet, as long as the management sees the place full of free-spending mongers, they must believe that it is simply not that important that their employees are using these practices.

In a nutshell, I am simply very curious and amazed. The whole situation interests and intrigues me no end.

No, of course I am not defending their practices.

When you walk into a club like HK or AB, you are walking into a nest of robbers, thieves, people that are commiting felonies and, pimping girls.

Iam not stupid to expect decent treatment as in McDonalds (if Mc is 2 steps above garbage as you say, then they are 4 above the clubs) cause am dealing with people that are paying both narcs and bribing local authorities and many other things.

This is one of the problems that arises when you think that the places you go to, are legal.
Of course they are not legal. Of course they can do whatever they want with whom ever they want.
You, me, Fireballs, Sampsonrico, _______ (fill in the blank) are subject to their rules and do what they want to do with us.

My point is that you should walk into the clubs not expecting first class four star treatment.
I never do. I don't expect favors from them, and viceversa nor do I expect them to see me as a good customer they should favor.
Am always on guard.

Like the guys that say "alway carry singles or small bills", I never pay a 25 peso soft drink with a 500 peso bill, cause one of these days they will do the switcharoo on me.
If I ran a tab, I always keep track of it.

I gladly pay ficha drinks for the girls, but I always let it be known to the waiter that Iam keeping track of the tab.

And so on.

Just this Gmbrldx, stop thinking that you can demand first class treatment on your person.
One of these days it is going to backfire on you.

I am a bit confused by your response. Are you defending their practices? Are you saying that this is cultural and as good guests, we should adapt? Or are you chastising us for patronizes these bars?

Courtesy and respect and decency are valued commodities no matter where you are in the world. Everyone wants to be treated with the respect that is due to every person. Just because there are those who are still operating as if they were in the Middle Ages does not mean everyone else should not strive to do unto others as you have them do unto you.

And by the way, some of the most notorious characters in history still treated their customers with the utmost respect. You use McDonald's as an example. McDonald's is in the business of selling food that is two steps above garbage. It is very unhealthy and is contributing to the expanding health care costs in the United States and now around the world. To top it off, it is grossly overpriced for what you are getting. As far as I am concerned, they are far worse than HK. At least at HK, you can get laid for a good price.

Now how's about that for twisting and turning logic to suit your fancy?! It is scary where my mind goes when I am tired...

You mark the difference by going to to the clubs and stay sharp for waiters that want to out smart me.
I always walk into a club with the idea that Iam going to be conned one way or another cause simply, they don't care about me.

PS: By the way, I just saw HK club's advertisment for Spring Breakers (March 23-April 6). Those guys spend more money than most of you (if not, all of you) and mark my words, some of them will be swindeled and/or robbed and the HK owners will not care at all if they come back or not. But these boys will be happy cause a lucky SOB university kid will get a trip to Los Cabos (and other prices).

I just can not comprehend their behavior. How could the folks who run HK believe that they will not turn away business by allowing this to continue? I guess you can not argue with them since HK seems to be even more popular than Adelita's these days. Personally, the music is so damned loud in HK that it hurts my eardrums. A few other mongers have commented about this. Well, my best wishes for their continued success. (I have been dying to jump in that jacuzzi when there are three chicas in it -- $30 for thirty minutes -- but I am absolutely positive that someone would sneak some snapshots and post them somewhere on the 'net.
