I wonder if anybody has idea's on a good lite weight portalble table? I have an earthlite "spirit" i'm using now. All my business is out call for now.  The 33 lbs is murder. :-/

I love my Ultralight table.  Check out their website, http://www.ultralightcorp.com/index.html .  When I bought my table, I was still in school, and did not fully appreciate how light it is until I graduated and started doing out calls.

I love my UltraLight table.  I have the Leading Wedge.  I had a problem with the head rest, but what was broken was replaced, under the lifetime warranty, very quickly at no charge to me.  I am very satisfied, and will definitely recommend them to other therapists.

The key is to find out how much weight you want to carry around.  It's all relative, 25 lbs might be okay for me but not for you.  Once you know how much you actually want the table to weight, determine which tables meet your criteria and price, ammenities, etc. and you've found your perfect table.  Joe E.

In 1993, I bought my Golden Ratio Portalite (23 lbs). Yes, I spent alot of money, but I must have done at least 3,000 hours of out calls on this baby....not a squeak, never a tear in the vinyl, NOTHING. When I opened a full time office, I never even considered buying a stationary table. I set up the Portalite in one of the treatment rooms, and do 10-15 hours every week on it. I bought two more Golden Ratio tables since then and I've always been happy with them. I'll always offer cheaper tables for my clients home use, considering that they don't need "industrial" strength, but for professional use, I'm a Golden Ratio advocate.

I was just looking at the Golden Ratio Portalite table package from massagewarehouse.com and the price seems really good, but I'm just worried about the size.  I currently do housecalls when I'm not working at my 'regular' massage job, and the table I have now weighs about 40 pounds, and it is literally falling apart, I hate it!!!  With the Portalite, I noticed that it's only 25 inches wide....do some patients find that uncomfortable?  How is the thickness of the foam with that?  I'm torn between the Portalite (because of the great reviews I've heard about it) and the Custom Craftworks Athena, which is what we used in school and a lot of friends of mine have, and that's 29-32 pounds, but 5-7 pounds does make a difference when you're lugging it in and out of the car and up and down stairs!  Any more suggestions/rave reviews out there about portable tables?

I do have a suggestion about carting your table to and fro... what would you think of using a table skate or cart? They have them in the massagewarehouse.com (sp?) catalogue. I used to use a table I bought at Costco for my outcalls. I sold it to a student in massage school after I used it well and thoroughly for 2 years. It compared well to other brands & models I've used over the years. I was just about to invest in the rolling skate cart when I changed my biz plan & began to work out of a salon (boy, do I love that the clients come to me! ha)Regarding the 25" width of that particular table... that is thin. If you have any clients who are not small to medium, you're going to find them pouring over the sides... arms slipping off, etc.Good luck to you!Jill/Sagetherapist

I do have a luggage cart that I was using when I would go to hotels, etc., but when I'm walking a few feet from the car to a house, it took more time to set it up than to just get in the house, but I just ordered the ever popular custom craftworks athena package, 29 pounds, woohoo!
