I am not sure that this would be helpful for anyone working the MS150 or other sporting events, but maybe:

Are these intended to be used directly beneath the client -- or -- I'm thinking you would still put sheets/etc on top of it, right? Might be nice to have as a barrier over the fleece cover -- I've always felt weird that that doesn't get washed between each client

So, they simply copied and pasted what it says on the item page. No further info was given. I might be interested in this product if I wasn't worried how my latex allergy clients might react. I guess I'll have to pass.

This is how I use it. --->Table----->fleece pad and table warmer------>table cover------->Sheets

Love it. If it ever wears out, I will definitely buy a new one. It also is pretty silent, compared to the other plastic crinkly table covers.

I saw the second post that they c&P'd you the latex info.

If it helps though, they also have a Flannel Stretch Sheet, that may suffice.

I do appreciate the information. I liked the idea of an oil/water resistant cover to have to help protect my table and to show the state (with all these new requirements) that I am protecting my table and my clients. I use extra padding and thought it would be good (for the state) to see it covered with an oil/water barrier.

Ah-ha! So I will keep my eyes out for something similar that is not latex. If I find something, I'll post it here.

No issues with the heat and the latex???

The latex does not feel like regular latex. It's not like exam gloves, or thicker latex or anything like that. The bottom side is almost like fabric, and the top layer is more like a very very very thin matte vinyl -- not sure how else to describe it. It's a very nice feeling material to me. My table heater is the earthlite samadhi that is a combo fleece pad/heater, so the heating element does have the fleece between it and the table cover. I imagine that the fabric like backing would make using a table heater by itself okay if it was on low, but that's just a guess.

But no, with my set up I have had no issues with the heater and the latex.

That sounds a lot like material I used to make covers for my cloth diapers. It's called PUL (polyurethane laminated polyester) and it is SUPER durable, stands up to MANY washes and is waterproof and relatively cheap.

I made a matress cover out of this stuff for my kids and it has saved me big time.

It has just enough 'give' to it. Not too thick or thin, soundless and well.. it just does the job.

I'm going to make my own since I still have some of the material left over :grin:

I always ask about allergies, and no one has ever had a latex allergy, but have to admit that even if someone had told me about their latex allergy it wouldn't have raised any flags because I didn't realize until now that this cover was made out of latex! So thanks all, for bringing this to my attention. I will be sure to ask new clients about this from now on.

Cover for Massage Table

I didn't see the thread before this "bump", so I never saw the old (broken) link. The new one states that the material is PU vinyl-- which does sound like that PUL that Green Dragonflies mentioned (I used it to make diaper covers too!). That stuff would indeed make a fabulous table cover!

ETA: Here's a link that explains what PUL is and how it's made. It's suitable for autoclaving, which is *very* high, heat, so no worries w/ the table warmer for sure! (I do not KNOW for sure that the table covers in pueppi's link are indeed made from PUL, but it sure looks/sounds like it to me.)
